Halloween Crocheted Bassinet Coverlet or Crib Blanket Pattern
A pretty little bassinet coverlet or a blanket in a cute color combination of peach and white will make a lovely gift to commemorate Baby’s First Halloween.
Materials
- 4 oz. Peach yarn
- 4 oz. White yarn
- crochet hook
How to:
Basic Square
With 1st color ch. 4, join with sl stitch to form ring.
Rnd 1 – Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) 2 dc in center of ring *ch 3, 3 dc in center of ring, rep from *2 more times, end with ch 3. Join with sl stitch to top of ch 3. End off.
Rnd 2 – With 2nd color, in ch 3 space of previous rnd. Work (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) corner, * in next ch 3 space work (3dc, ch 3, 3 dc) rep from* twice, join with sl stitch to top of ch 3. End off.
Rnd 3 – With 1st color (ch3, 2dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in chain 3 at corner space, then work 3 dc between each 3 dc group on sides and (3dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in each corner, join with slip stitch. End off.
Assemble the Center
Make 15 squares using white as starting round and 20 squares using peach for starting round as per instructions given for the basic square above.
Arrange the blocks alternatively to make a rectangular centerpiece. Whip stitch together on wrong sides.
Border
Row 1 – With color A, work 3 dc. Between groups of dc along all edges and (3 dc, chain 3, 3 dc) in each corner and end off.
Rows 2,3 and 4 – Repeat as for Row 1 alternating the colors.
